c. Expand forest market development (p.82)

This activity focuses on expanding the commercialization of forests resources for national and international markets.

It consists of:

  • encouraging ‘pastoralists, investors, associations, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and institutions … to produce forest and forest products that are qualitatively competitive, according to the rules of the customary communal land management, and supply the local and international markets’;
  • protecting and producing ‘quality forest products that have high demand in local and international markets’;
  • conducting ‘activities that would protect forest resources under the holdings of any person from man-made or natural disasters’;
  • undertaking ‘activities that contribute to fight forest degradation’;
  • controlling and protecting the ‘movement of genes of endangered plant species’;
  • stablishing ‘proper systems to control movement of forest resources and products’.
