Making green energy safe for pastoralists

One of the authors of the study on Pastoralism-and-large-scale-REnewable-energy-and-green-hydrogen-projects, Hussein Wario, Director of the Centre for Research & Development in Drylands (CRDD) in northern Kenya, gave his perspective on the study findings in a blog for Project Syndicate “Making green energy safe for pastoralists“ – also available in Spanish (Que la energiá verde sea segura para los pastores), French (Rendre l’énergie verte plus sûre pour les communautés pastorales) and German (Wie erneuerbare Energien und traditionelle Weidewirtschaft einhergehen können).

In March 2023, Hussein also published an article The global rush for green energy shouldn’t undermine rights of pastoralist communities” in the German-based international journal for rural development Rural 21: 57(1): 33-35.
