DLCI journal Resilience in the drylands Vol. 5

The fifth volume (Dec 2014, 52pp) of the DLCI (Drylands Learning and Capacity Building Initiative for Improved Policy and Practice in the Horn of Africa) journal on resilience building in the drylands of the Horn of Africa contains articles on natural resource management in Ethiopia and Uganda, livestock insurance, Turkana’s aquifers, measuring resilience, the pastoralist livelihoods and displacement simulator, LAPSSET, social accountability mechanisms, social protection, enhancing pastoral voice and Kenya’s Ending Drought Emergency Initiative. It includes an article by Koen van Toos, CELEP Focal Point, on European policies on pastoralism in Eastern Africa (pp36-37).
