CELEP Update March 2019

The CELEP Update March 2019 reports on past, ongoing and planned activities coordinated by CELEP’s European Focal Point at VSF–Belgium and Eastern African Focal Point at RECONCILE in Kenya. This 6-page issue includes information about recent events in which CELEP was involved, such as training in lobbying and advocacy, CELEP’s Annual General Meeting, the Beating the Famine conference and the International Youth Agro-pastoral Entrepreneurship Summit. It announces upcoming events such as a meeting in Brussels on dairying, the LANDAC conference in Utrecht and the Tropentag conference in Kassel. Three publications in which CELEP was involved are the gap analysis on rangelands and pastoralism, a brief on pastoralism and the SDGs, and a brief on pastoralists as family farmers. Various lobbying activities are highlighted, e.g. related to UNEA-4, the United Nations Decade of Family Farming (inluding pastoralists) and advocacy at the EU.
