CELEP Update February 2017

The CELEP Update for February 2017 reports on past, ongoing and planned activities of the CELEP Focal Point at VSF–Belgium. This issue brings information about our involvement in advocating for an International Year of Rangelands & Pastoralists (IYRP) in 2020, our preparations for the World Bank Conference on Land & Poverty in March 2017, the pilot project on Participatory Range Management in collaboration with the International Land Coalition, the lunch conference at the JPA ACP-EU session in Nairobi, the IUCN review on transboundary agreements on pastoralism, advocacy work related to the activities of the New Alliance in Eastern Africa and an introduction to a new CELEP member: SOS Sahel UK.

CELEP is managed by an elected European Focal Point, currently at VSF-Belgium, an Eastern African Focal Point, currently at RECONCILE, Kenya, and a Core Group. The 2022-2023 Core Group is composed of the European members Agrecol Association (Germany), International Institute for Environment and Development (UK) and VSF-Belgium; the Eastern African partners DADO Uganda, Pastoralist Forum Ethiopia, PENHA Somali and RECONCILE Kenya; and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
