Brussels Briefing: New challenges & opportunities for pastoralism

A Brussels Development Briefing was organised on 22 February 2012 by the African Union Commission, the European Commission (DG DEVCO), the ACP Secretariat, CELEP, Concord and various media partners.
The Briefing provided an overview of the main challenges affecting the pastoralists, especially in Africa, and the opportunities provided by existing continental and regional policy frameworks and processes. It focused on sharing good practices and experiences from the field across regions. Concrete policy actions to be in place to increase support pastoralism were also identified.
More than 150 ambassadors, policymakers, NGO representatives and member state delegates followed the discussions.

On the Brussels Briefings website can be found the briefing note, the presentations and background documentation: New challenges and opportunities for pastoralism
